Dragon boating is a team of 12 to 22 people in a canoe type boat, paddling frantically (in time) towards the finish line.  Included in the number of people in the boat is the sweep (who stands at the back of the boat and steers), and the drummer (who sits at the front of the boat and beats the drum).  Dragon boating offers participants with a sport which is easy and challenging from novice to sporting types.  It’s a fun sport that promotes exercise and teamwork and is family orientated.
Adelaide Survivors Abreast Dragon Boat Club Inc was established in 2005.  In 2009 we also welcomed members from the Copper Coast (Kadina, Wallaroo and surrounding areas).  This group of members train on the Wallaroo Marina and often head down to Adelaide to compete.
ASA invites breast cancer survivors and supporters, both male and female, to join us in the Dragon Boat Association, registered as DBSA.  New members over 12 are always welcome.
